Birdhouse
Birdhouse is a life size, dream inspired self portrait. In my dream, I need a mask for a party. I search in garden gazebo and find an old bird house which I put on my head as a hat. The image is so intriguing that when I awake that I have to sculpt it in clay.

I modeled my features from life, hand building a hollow ceramic portrait bust with a birdhouse on its head. After it was fired, I added small birds that I made out of fabric and stuffed with cotton.
