...incorporating secrets and surprises...Here's my dream: there is a dessert contest. I win with my confection,
a piece of chocolate cake decorated with white icing and red roses, displayed on the head of a beautiful woman dressed in turquoise.
When a dream is this unique, I am compelled to manifest
it in three dimensions!
I asked
Marina Lighthouse to pose for me. She wore a scuba head covering to help me recreate the dream image as a hand-built ceramic sculpture, to which I added a slice of luscious cake. After bisque firing,
I airbrushed the glazes on, following my model's exact make-up routine, to make the piece as realistic as possible.
Dreams inspired me to create both Piece of Cake and Bird House.
